It looks like the aftermath of a nosebleed.
Yeah, I have nothing against remkes but this recent crop (or crap?) of horror remakes (Texas Chainsaw, Halloween, Friday the 13th, ect) is just not measuring up to anything good. Now, I realize that some of the new generation of horror fans really dig this new stuff (the old Halloween and Friday the 13th ARE dated and probably not very scary to kids weaned on “Saw” and “Hostel”) but one of things missing from these remakes is that sense of mystery. Maybe a guy in a mask killing people is not scary, but the atmosphere and sense of the boogeyman maybe being undsr the bed is much scarier than (to me) than Michael Myers being some abused and neglected kid who murders family out of boredom. That’s another thing these horror movies are missing: a sense of fun. They are WAY to serious. “Drag Me To Hell” was a lot fun, on top of being scary and f**cked up. Why can’t Jason, Michael Myers, and Freddy still be fun and scary rather than depressing creatures (though to be fair I have not seen the new “Friday the 13th” and have heard from many it was a return to form, which was one of the things fans didn’t like so…I guess you can’t win.)
As if this film isn’t bad enough, I can’t wait to see what Marcus Nispel does with remake of “Conan the Barbarian,” WITHOUT ARNOLD!?, or perhaps a digital Arnold…? ahh shit! I need some Xanax…
im sad to say that i picked up a coppy ….. and liked it.
