“Scene Unseen” regular Jeromy Oblivian recently introduced me to comedian Mike Birbiglia. He’s funny as all hell…and I imagine will be blowing up any minute now.
Animators Niraj Shah and Chris Brown (not me) produced the above clip to accompany the track, “Porno for Parents,” off Mike’s Comedy Central Records album, “My Secret Public Journal (Live).” Hope you piss your trousers over this.

Really funny material. I like the joke. I can’t help but be bothered by the really hacky comedian delivery, though. It reminds me of all the Comedy Central flavor of the month stars’ deliveries.
Hacky? I think Birbiglia is a great story teller, more so than your average stand up guy. He does a lot of stories on This American Life that are really great.
I did not take any shots at his story telling, I said his material is good, but I am not a fan of his delivery.
I’ll agree with Brian, Birbiglia is an awesome storyteller and I’ve always enjoyed his segments on This American Life. He does some stuff for “The Moth” podcast which is great.
