Surb on Film_LOGO_sm_yell

That’s right folks, America’s favorite inebriated cinema guru is back with another batch of movie reviews. Please allow me to present the next eight episodes of SURB ON FILM, thus completing season one.

For those who got the joke the first time around, please enjoy Surb pontificating about Netflix, Citizen Kane, baseball, and of course, vampires. For those who didn’t dig the first series, this one ain’t for you either.

If you’re a part of the former group, be sure to watch the epic Dances With Wolves episode…it’s a stunning achievement in storytelling, personal reflection, and sociology.  For the new episodes, and the entire collection so far, check out Surb’s YouTube channel.

In the clip below, Surb answers the question, “What’s the best golf movie ever?” After the jump, Surb discusses Major League, The Natural, and vampire movies.  Relish every second…it could possibly change your life.

Surb reviews Major League and The Natural.

Surb expresses his thoughts on vampire movies.

Surb’s comments are insightful & wise. A concise synopsis of cinema as we know it. His grunts, mumbles, and mannerisms leave you with an authentic and familiar feeling unlike any modern critic today.
Please continue these ground-breaking episodes! well done, CB!

    “She’s one in a million girls. She’s a beauty.”

Isn’t that from an eighties song? I feel like singing the rest of it- “Why would I lie? Why would I lie…”

I can’t tell you how much fun Surb is to hang out with…he’s a mad man when the sun goes down.

What the hell is he drinking? Does he need that chalice and the can?

  6. Chris said:

In one hand, he has a can of Tecate.

In the other, a chalice of Jim Beam.

    That’s how he rolls…

“Don’t quote me on that.” HA!

You realize I’m not going to get that theme song out of my head all night. How’m I sleepin? HUH?!

Also, could you, in the next series, tighten in on the shot? Waist up, perhaps.

Please do an episode with Surb talking about the relatively new emphasis in animated movies on having reconizable film stars, who have plenty of work, getting paid ridiculous sums for doing them, instead of trained, studied, professional voiceover actors who actually know what they’re doing, but are now out of work. Could you do an episode on that? I know Surb probably has some great insight on it. I’m not quite sure how I feel about it yet.

I’m off to see the Dances With Wolves episode. I mean, if I have time, because he seems to be getting more and more verbose, and I have a life, people.

Please delete this if I’ve exceeded my posting limit, but I just saw the epic Dances With Wolves episode.

(Is it the same bird that keeps flying across the sky behind him? Is it the elusive, reclusive, loner bird who only flies alone? Just wondering.)

Anyway, you’re right. This is a profound episode. I am a better person for having watched it. Which isn’t really a stretch, since there was nowhere for my character to go but up.

    Please thank Surb for me.
