For the entire month of August, Turner Classic Movies is once again launching their annual “Summer Under the Stars” series. Every day of the month will be dedicated to a different star – Cary Grant, Bette Davis, Sidney Poitier – and will showcase films making their premiere on the channel.
In conjunction with the marathon, TCM’s stable of talented artists created a batch of modern posters for these classic flicks…and they’re exceptional. Click on the above image for a LARGER version of their take on The Magnificent Seven, Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, and The Big Heat. More info after the jump…
I implore you to check out the other 9 posters here, including Jailhouse Rock, The Grapes of Wrath, and Dr. Strangelove. For a complete schedule, click here.
Special thanks to super fan Jonathan Hernandez from West Palm Beach, Florida for letting us know about this great collection!

These are great. I love movie posters and Trailers/Teasers when they’re done right.
TOTAL BONER INDUCING.
I pray that one day, TCM starts selling one-sheets.
Candles + Astroglide + “Grapes of Wrath” poster = a Good Night
Thanks for the shout-out Chris!
These are some beautiful posters and I agree that they should be available for sale.
Thanks so much for this! I am horribly uninformed! I need your blog to keep me mod and hip!
Those posters are great, so thanks to Jonathan, too.
I hope they have a Matt Damon day! Pierce Brosnan? Tilda Swinton?
Emma Thompson?
if I see Grace Kelly on there again, I’m writing them. and you know they don’t want that..
