I read the short story by Richard Matheson in school. I highly reccomend it. I think they could’ve picked someone better than Cameron Diaz. Perhaps Amy Adams or Scarlet Johannson. Anyways, I’m looking forward to this flick. I loved Donnie Darko
Believe it or not, I might come to C.D.’s defense here…
1) She was damn good in “Being John Malkovich.”
2) Hotter than hell in “The Mask.”
3) Perfect in “There’s Something About Mary.”
4) Great little dancer in “Charlie’s Angels.” (even though the movie was shit)
5) And, believe it or not, great in “In Her Shoes.” (Yes, I fucking saw it, and yes I liked it!)
I know, I’m a sap.
Her (agent’s) role selection is respectable.
Her beautician must be blind.
On a purely shallow physical level, she’s be getting exponentially hideous since uglify-ing herself in “Being John Malkovich.” YIKES!
I guess some people age well, other people are Cameron Diaz.
What are we talking about here?
Oh! “The Box”
Yeah, looks intriguing.
I thought her performance in Vanilla Sky was quite good, kind of a different role for her…
I don’t understand why people think CD is hot. She’s not that pretty
Chris is right…. she is smokin’ hot in the Mask. She had more meat on her bones in that role, she’s too damn skinny right now.
And yeah, she’s not aging well. I think James Marsden looks prettier in this film.
The trailer looks pretty good, although this story was done in an episode of the 1980′s “Twilight Zone”, and was not very good (Matheson even asked his name be removed from the credits. This is the man who also co-wrote “Jaws 3″! That MUST be bad if he asked for his name to be removed from a “Twilight Zone”!) . I hope Kelly does a better job with it. As for Diaz, she has done some good work and she has done some mediocre work, just like everybody else. One other movie I liked her in was “Gangs of New York’; not a great deal of depth to her character, but I thought she did very well in that scene where Lewis chucks the knives at her on stage. Very intense scene!
What about Diaz in ‘Gangs of New York’, Chris? That was a pretty decent flick. I think she was better in that than ‘Charlie’s Angels’. And ‘Vanilla Sky’ was an interesting role for her.
Just sayin’.
Chris, why don’t you like Donnie Darko?
I have a major man-crush on James Marsden.
Sorry Chris and Jimmy, but this movie looks like shit…like your run-of-the-mill TV movie; the effects are horrible, the acting seems sub-par, and remember Southland Tales?
Although, I will agree w/ Chris’s list, minus Charlie’s Angels=)
Push the button, someone you don’t know dies and you get a million bucks? BAM! Button pushed. Done. What’s next? This is a movie? 666 indeed.
And following the journey of someone who would push the button right away with no qualms would make for a more interesting story I think.
I really really hope this movie is good. Kelly needs a hit right now. As for Diaz, she is only as good as her director (i.e Spike Jonze / Curtis Hanson /Cameron Crowe). She should be fine this time around.
This looks okay. Marsden hasn’t realy been in anything that can really show off his talent besides the X-men films so it will be interesting to see how he does, BUT WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THE MUSIC FROM THE SAW MOVIES? THIS ISNT SAW SO WHAT THE F**K
As long as it’s better than Southland Tales, I think we’ll be in the safe zone. but then again, I enjoyed Soutland Tales, didn’t love it, but enjoyed it.
They really couldn’t spring for their own soundtrack?
