Hello, hello blogees!
Fear not, “Scene Unseen” still has a heartbeat, albeit faint. We appreciate your loyalty (and passionate bitterness), but truth be told, we probably won’t be blogging much (as I’m sure you’ve gathered).
After 3 1/2 years of podcasting, we felt the show certainly ran its course…and when it comes to blogging, well, those cats over at Slash Film seem to have the recipe down pat.
However, from time to time, Jimbo and I will post items of curiosity (a.k.a., “Random Acts of Interest”) that tickle our fancy, such as the clip below that has been circling the interwebs. It’s quite a collection of cliche, and if we still yammered into mics, we’d probably riff on this for minutes on end.

Peter Sarsgaard can be scary, slimey, and unnerving with one smile, and comforting, endearing, and lovely with another one. If you could have a mancrush on an acting ability, I have one.

That is hilarious! I wonder what film this cliche originated in? Is it possible they were doing it all the back to the silent films?
I can’t watch this until I get home, and I’ve never heard of this film, but does he, by any chance, say to her, ‘Tool time!!’ ?
I agree with Drew; Sarsgaard is scary but I’m not sure if it takes talent. It’s just how he looks.

Thanks for the update CB. I’m glad they are keeping you guys busy—the more impact the two of you have on the industry, the more tasteful it will get.
I feel like a cliche for thriller movies is when someone is looking around a corner to see if someone is there, and then that person ends up being right behind them with a gun to their head.
